Abstract
Abstract: The collapse of the Soviet Union in the early 1990s marked the collapse ofthe communist bloc and the end of the Cold War era. From the context of major discourses on ideology, communism is no longer considered relevant. Francis called the phenomenon "the end of history", namely the phenomenon of narrowing the ideology of capitalism and liberalism. Thenthe discourse of globalization bubbled up, as if it were a continuation or a mere consequence of the glories of capitalism and liberalism. However, inthe 21st century, with a different intensity from the 20th century, the religious factor has begun to be reckoned with in the global political treasures (The Economist (edition 3-9 November 2007) for example, tries to underline the "conclusion". Religion can no longer be underestimated. The rise of Islamic parties in Turkey's secular republic to Hindu nationalist powers in India's upcoming elections. There is also a tendency that Chinamay be the largest Christian country in the world, but it may also have thelargest Muslim population. It may be that these days we are in the processof revival of religions on the global political stage. As predicted by Samuel P Huntington, Islam will emerge as the dominant factor in "offsetting" the Western ideological discourse, after the death of communism. Indonesia ispart of the global phenomenon of the world. Also experiencing a newphenomenon, where Islam became one of the drivers of the birth of theparty, as a sign of the increasingly solid pillars of democracy, the party isone of the characteristics of the pillars of democracy. The phenomenon of the reform era has further strengthened the social affiliation of parties toreligions in Indonesia, especially Islam which has a majority adherents. One of the parties affiliated to Islam, especially to the largest religious mass organization in Indonesia, namely Nahdlatul Ulama (NU). The party called itself the National Awakening Party. The research that I did was toanswer the religious position that sparked the motivation of the Islamiccommunity to establish the National Awakening Party (PKB). Specifically, this research will answer; (1) What is the role and function of religion inglobal politics; (2) How is the implementation of Islamic religious values as the main basis in global politics for PKB in Nganjuk Regency; (3) Whythe existence of Islamic values as the main basis and foundation in theNational Awakening Party (PKB) in Nganjuk Regency. Meanwhile, the method we use is descriptive qualitative research, with a case studyapproach. By trying to dig up data naturally in the National Awakening Party (PKB) Nganjuk Regency. By conducting in-depth interviews withthe chairman of PKB, and the Secretary of PKB. Supported by data from the documentation of party activities. The data that we have dug up can give results, that the existence of Islamic values is the basis and the main basis for the National Awakening Party (PKB) in Nganjuk Regency. The role and function of religion in today's global politics, is collaborative and even mutualistic symbiosis. Keywords: PKB; Politics; The Existence of Religion
