Abstract

Angelika Neuwirth is a typical Western scientists who contributed a review of the Koran through a literary approach. Neuwirth basing its analysis to the letter as a whole. In a further development, Neuwirth reinforces the approach to the letter not only to the literary approach, but also the historical approach. For Her, the letter is a small unit that stores the communication process at the time of it’s birth as an integral unit that is guaranteed by the editorial as a literary text. She struggled to dig the understanding that the Koran during the descent is regarded as living at the same scripture react other traditions that emerged in his time including the texts around them within the context of the study of intertextuality. With the study of intertextuality, Bible influence in the Koran is not seen as plagiarism, but rather as the uniqueness and effectiveness of the Koran in it’s message.
