Abstract

According to prophet’s said that every 100 years, there is a mujaddid that already to modernize the religious thinking. It needs therefore to see the meaning of tajdid. Etymologically, “tajdid” is from arabic words “jadda” and “tajdid” that mean modernization. Beside that, like Quraisy Shihab said, tajdid is defined with refresh what has forgotten, give solution and a new reinterpretation to the religious teaching. Then, who is a mujaddid? Mujaddid is someone who can stand their strongly argument to that problems, has talent to compare between “Syubhat” and “Mukhamat”, has strongly power to do istinbat from the text, isyarat, and dilalah al-Qur’an. Tajdid is devided into “tajdid urfy” that is worldly such as economic, politic, technology and education fields, and “tajdid syar’i” that is like in system of belief and Islamic law.
