Abstract
The article is intended to raise awarenes and to provide arguments on the significance of Language Learning Strategies (LLSs), strategy training, and learning autonomy. LLSs help language learners participate actively in the realistic communication found in the communicative classroom, and research studies on them have found the significant role of LLS towards the success of language learning. Conseguently, strategy training—learning how to learn—providing specific information about why, when, and where strategies should beapplied, has been the mostsuccessfulin languagelearning and teaching. That is, strategy training promises to improve language learning and leads to learner autonomy as the final goal of education in general. To gain it, stakesholders need to review the implementation of language teaching and learning thus far, s0 that learning autonomy starts from classroom and continues beyond classroom.
