Abstract

This study aims to explain the school patterns and hidden motivations of Kediri IAIN students. The data used as a guide in this study are facts in the field, then processed and analyzed descriptively, which provides an interpretation of the objects described in the language relevant to the direction of the study. This study concluded that there were a number of school variations adopted by Kediri IAIN students in veiling. In terms of types and models, some of them wear loose headscarves, wide headscarves plus headscarves, standard headscarves and hijab headscarves. But the majority of Kediri IAIN students prefer to wear standard headscarves. While in terms of religious affiliation, they followed a number of schools. Among them are the Maliki, Hanafi, Shafi'i and Hanbali schools. But the majority of them were more inclined towards Shafi'i and Maliki schools. While the motivation of the IAIN Kediri students in wearing a hijab varies. Some of them are purely for theological reasons (read; religion), anthropological (cultural) and psychological (personal comfort).
