Abstract
One of the significant factors influential to the accomplishment of teaching learning process in an educational institution is the role of lecturer and administration staff which is supported by academic information system accordingly organized based on the established standard. Assigned to generate quality human resource having preeminent intellectual, moral and committed to various social role, the lecturer and administration staff should be highly motivated in developing academic information system which, in turn, would improve their performance. The researcher entitled this study "The Effect of Motivation on Performance of Lecturer and Administration Staff in Developing Academic Information System at STAIN Kediri". The focus of this study is mainly based Herzberg’s theory of two factors determining motivation, namely satisfactory and continuity factors. The former consists of Achievement, Recognition, The Work Itself, Responsibility, Advancement, while the latter consists of Technical Supervisor, Inter Personal Relationship, Company Policy Administration. However, only the satisfactory factor which would be elaborated in depth in this research. The objective of this elaboration is to find out whether satisfactory factor has significant effect on the performance of lecturer and employees in developing academic information system and which of the five components of satisfactory factor has the most dominant effect on the performance of lecturer and employees in developing academic information system at STAIN Kediri.
