Abstract

This research was conducted in orchard of Meduran, Ringin Pitu Village, district of Plemahan, Kediri Regency with its focuses on : 1) how is the implementation the countryside cleanness activity in orchard of Meduran, 2) why countryside cleanness activity is always conducted in Suro, 3) what’s the background of implementation of countryside cleanness activity, and 4) what types of islamization within countryside cleanness activity in orchard of Meduran. The aims of this research is to : 1) to know and to describe the implementation of countryside cleanness activity in Meduran, 2) to know the background idea of society with reference to implementation of countryside cleanness activity in Suro, 3) to describe the background of islamization in countryside cleanness activity, and 4) to know and at the same time, to explain concerning forms of islamization done by orchard society of Meduran in countryside cleanness activity. The benefits of this research are : 1) to give the image of countryside cleanness activity done by orchard society of Meduran to wider society, 2) to give input for the agenda of further improvement of cultural art of islam in countryside cleanness activity, 3) to give ideal contribution to local religion figures in derecting the model of countryside cleanness activity hereinafter, and 4) to search for alternative culture of islam which is more touching to local society. The method used in this researchis qualitative approach, namely scientifically elaborated data, without any additiomal or reduction. The type of this research is ethnography research, because this research tries to reveal faith, culture and value of local society. Based on the data the researcher oblained, the countryside c,eanness activity in orchard of Meduran has been conducted since epoch of Buyut Lajeng to show their gratefulness to God for the infinite award in the forms of paddy crop. However, in hereinafter growth, especially in the period of Mbah Sengik and of Mbah Wiro until 1965 contryside cleanness activity was identified to have gone beyond boundary of Islamic values. The next generation tried to make some changes and improvement into the culture gradually. The conclusion we can get from the research is that : 1) countryside cleanness activity in orchard of Meduran has always been developed, 2) the existence of faith of society concerning supremacy and dignity of month Suro, 3) the rise of awareness and believe in supremacy of GOD in orchard society of Meduran, and 4) the form of islamization applied in countryside cleanness activity is still limited to al-qur’an sema’an (reciting), yasinan, tahlilan and a religious speech. It is suggested to Moslem society in orchard of Meduran, especially religious figures and members of adolescent mosque association to be able to look for alternative cultural art to be applied countryside cleanness activity hereinafter. Alternative art could be arts which has Islamic idea and view because during the time countryside cleanness activity is still predominated by art of TAYUB which performs and is identical to dringking liquor.
