Abstract

This study aims to examine the roles and roles of women in Tanah Tabu. In the perspective of eco-feminism, female characters are trapped in double shackles, namely patriarchal culture and the chain of capitalism. Ecofeminism has aspirations related to environmental issues intimidated by patriarchal violent ideologies. From this point of view, eco-feminism sees the existence of the earth as being persecuted by develomentalism and capitalism. Ecofeminism places women as victims who are victims of the accomplices of masculinity, which in this context includes men from the Dani tribe and Freeport. The presence of this gold mining company has exploited the nature of the Baliem Valley, which is the main source of livelihood for Dani women. The findings obtained were that of eco- feminism placing female figures as victims of the earthquake. Domestic affairs of household, family and nature naturally position this. The female character as a situation of resistance presented at the court aroused resistance; the patriarchal masked husband figure; against Freeport capitalism.
